Getting Real

So we have kicked off the Think Impact University (TIU) in Kumasi, Ghana.  Nine scholars have arrived with one more landing in Accra tonight and then flying into Kumasi in the morning.  These students rock!  We began our sessions on Wednesday night and have been crushing through information and curriculum since then.

Today we took the scholars to the cultural center.  This was actually my first time to the center in Kumasi as well.  It was awesome.  We sat on a stage in an amphitheater and had a private drumming and dance presentation.  We then walked through the ground learning about the culture that is Ashanti!

The self assigned theme for this summer along with my colleagues across Africa is Think Impact's Real World: Ghana.  Our South Africa friends launched there amazing video today. We have ours planned to launch this evening with a cast introduction tomorrow when our last scholar arrives.  This should be a blast.  Stay tuned to my Facebook for more details.

It is still hard to believe I am graduated and working doing something I LOVE!  I am excited about how this opportunity is already opening doors for me for the next chapter.  I will keep you posted :)

Right now we are immersing in continued culture.  The scholars are wrapping up their Twi language lessons and we have a group from a local NGO to talk about their work in the area.

This will be an intense summer.  I can't wait to share with you this adventure.

Til then,
Kwame Tim
